چکیده

Identifying early egg-quality predictors is a major challenge in finfish hatcheries, and relevant research now focused on the development of molecular markers. In our study, we examined whether fertilization rates morphological abnormalities sea bream egg batches high (HQ) low quality (LQ) are associated with mRNA levels cathepsin D, Z, cyclin-A2, glucocorticoid receptor. Additionally, these descriptors were skeletal during larval period. HQ characterized by significantly higher normal embryos (95.8 ± 2.3%) lower unfertilized (2.8 1.0%) abnormal eggs (1.3 1.4%), compared to LQ (84.2 0.8% embryos, 12.3 eggs, 3.5 1.4% eggs) (p < 0.05, Mann–Whitney U test). Relative expression cyclin-A2 receptor was found be those (respectively, p 0.01 No statistically significant differences observed transcripts D Z > Differences rate between two groups larvae not G-test), indicating that may serve as reliable markers for prediction fish but later stages.

‘Molecular characterization of a gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata) muscle

Understanding the control of piscine fatty acid metabolism is important for determining the nutritional requirements of fish, and hence for the production of optimal aquaculture diets. The regulation and expression of carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1 (CPT1; EC No 2.3.1.21) are critical processes in the control fatty acid metabolism, and here we report a cDNA from gilthead sea bream (Sparus aura...

The stress response of the gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata L.) to air exposure and confinement.

We investigated short-term effects (up to 24 h) of air exposure and confinement, and long-term effects (up to 11 days) of confinement, to elucidate signalling pathways in the stress response of gilthead sea bream Sparus aurata L. Plasma glucose and lactate were taken as indicators of sympathetic activation, and alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH), adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH...

Stress and mu opioid receptor in the management of gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata) aquaculture

The growing consumption of aquaculture products requires always new techniques to increase the production yield. Generally, the intensification of aquaculture practices is associated with a stress level rise of bred fishes. Sensitivity to stress, leading to disease, reduced growth and mortality, is higher in larvae than in adult fish. The stress induced effects can be reduced acting on opioid r...

A Comparative BAC Map for the Gilthead Sea Bream (Sparus aurata L.)

This study presents the first comparative BAC map of the gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata), a highly valuated marine aquaculture fish species in the Mediterranean. High-throughput end sequencing of a BAC library yielded 92,468 reads (60.6  Mbp). Comparative mapping was achieved by anchoring BAC end sequences to the three-spined stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus) genome. BACs that were consis...

Glomerulonephritis and immunosuppression associated with dietary essential fatty acid deficiency in gilthead sea bream, Sparus aurata L., juveniles.

An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of an essential fatty acid (EFA) deficient diet on growth, immune status and renal morphology of juvenile gilthead sea bream, using two diets: a control diet containing 2% (DW) of n-3 high unsaturated fatty acid (n-3 HUFA) and a diet formulated to be deficient in EFA for this species and containing 0.5% DW of n-3 HUFA (diet NFA). After 9 weeks...
